photography workshops

Spend an afternoon getting better at this.

Small-group photography workshops — studio lighting, posing direction, retouching workflows. Bring your own camera, leave with a folder of practice images and a sharper eye.

Most photography workshops fail by trying to teach too much. Ours focus on one or two techniques per session — studio lighting, posing direction, retouching workflows — and give attendees genuine shooting time to practise them. The group is capped at 8 so everyone gets direct attention from the lead photographer. We run them as evening or half-day formats, often themed (corporate headshots, beauty, editorial portrait, product), and the take-home gallery proves the technique landed.

How it works

booking workshops

From enquiry to delivery — here's exactly how the process runs.

pick the workshop

Each workshop is themed around one technique — check the upcoming dates, book your seat. Private workshops for teams arranged separately.

theory + setup

First half of the session is concept and lighting setup demonstration. Why these settings, why this modifier, why this angle.

practical + review

Second half is hands-on shooting with the included model, with review and direction from the lead. Take-home gallery follows within 7 days.

In the price

what's included

No upsells in the small print. The headline rate covers the kit and the room — add-ons are listed separately and you only pay for what you book.

Half-day group workshop — 4 hours of theory and hands-on, paced so everyone gets meaningful shooting time.
Hands-on studio time — practical setups across multiple lighting scenarios. You shoot, you review, you iterate.
Model included — one professional model for the practical session, briefed on the workshop's focus.
Lunch and refreshments — light lunch and drinks throughout. Workshop runs continuously without dragging through caf-runs.
Take-home edited gallery — your strongest 5 frames retouched and delivered as a workshop deliverable.
Group size capped at 8 — small enough that everyone gets direct attention and shooting time.
Why book this with us

reasons to pick echelon for workshops

Group capped at 8 — everyone gets meaningful shooting time and direct attention.
Themed sessions — each workshop focuses on one technique done properly, not 12 techniques covered superficially.
Professional model included — practice on someone who knows how to take direction.
Take-home gallery — your strongest frames edited and delivered as a workshop deliverable.
Private team bookings available — corporate creative days, photo club bookings, or staff training.
Run by working studio photographers — taught by people who shoot commercially every week, not pure educators.
Attended the studio lighting workshop. Walked in confused about modifier choice and walked out understanding why every option exists. The hands-on time with the model was where it clicked.
